Registration Deadline for #ShopYK Passport Campaign

The City of Yellowknife in partnership with the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses to participate in the fourth annual #ShopYK Passport Program. Last year fifty-four businesses participated and 1616 completed passports were submitted with a value of $969,600.

For every $20 spent on a product, shoppers received a stamp in their passport. For every thirty stamps collected participants are entered into a draw for a chance to win a $3000 shopping spree at any of the participating businesses. Business can register from August 14 until September 15, 2017. The Passport Program begins on October 11 and finishes December 4.

“The City and Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce have partnered on several shop local initiatives over the past few years. We recognize the importance and value that local spending provides to our economy and continue to support our business community,” said Mayor Heyck.

“The #ShopYK Passport Program has been very well received by both businesses and residents. Our goal this year is to break the $1 Million dollar mark in local procurement,” said Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce President, Renee Comeau.
