WSCC is the arm’s length government agency responsible for administering the Workers' Compensation Acts, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Explosives Use Acts and the Mine Health and Safety Acts in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
 
The WSCC promotes workplace health and safety while providing no-fault insurance to employers and care for injured workers.
 
Cary Ingram, Chief Inspector of Mines and Occupational Health and Safety, and Meta Antolin, Manager of Occupational Health and Safety Programs will speak to us about keeping workplaces safe during COVID-19. Their presentation will cover important and timely topics such as:
 

• The WSCC’s role in helping employers and workers keep our workplaces safe;
• The hazards associated with COVID-19, and measures you must take to protect yourself and your workers;
• An overview of the WSCC Risk Assessment and Field Level Risk Assessment, which the Chief Public Health Officer has recently made mandatory for all businesses preparing to re-open.

 
Cary and Meta will then answer questions submitted by our members. There will be an opportunity at the end to ask any other questions about workplace safety you might have that hasn’t been covered.
